I don't know how many of us are members of the ECBACO but if the ECB are not willing to agree terms with CricHQ over the use of play-cricket would it b worth us requesting a refund of our membership fees? Many of us have used TCS for years, buying the upgrades when needed and investing in live score licences. Our league saw our Ecb monies.cut due to live scores not showing but this was down to the TCS website functionality.Ĭriqhq are removing the functionality as they want you to switch to their services. I thought as soon as I heard of the purchase of TCS by criqhq that it would lead to the death of TCS. Personally I don't think it's the Ecb that are stopping criqhq as they are very keen on sharing the api and developing partnerships as we can see from their link with Pitchero. Trainee scorers are provided with a training manual and blank scoresheets. Each course is split over 3 days of three hours each and includes both theory and practical training. Linear training courses are run at the start and end of the domestic cricket season. All the players’ stats are calculated from this sheet and no match can be concluded without a completed summary sheet for each innings.Īs soon as you know the theory and start practicing it, the easier the method becomes and the quicker you will improve. The summary sheet is exactly what its name suggests – a summary of the match. Whenever there is a bowling change, the bowler is replaced on the worksheet by the next bowler and the same applies to batsmen when they go out. The worksheet has space for the two batsmen currently batting, as well as for the two bowlers currently bowling. You can quickly see which batsman faced which delivery and what the total was after every over. The worksheet shows each over on consecutive lines and every ball, run and wicket is scored on this sheet. During the match every ball is recorded on the worksheet and information is then transferred from the worksheet onto the summary sheet. Linear scoring consists of two sheets – a worksheet and a summary sheet. The linear form of cricket scoring is growing in popularity and, as the preferred scoring system of the ICC and Cricket South Africa, has now been introduced at all levels of cricket in KwaZulu-Natal.

The KZN Cricket Scorers’ Association has been nominated for the SA Provincial Cricket Scorers’ Association of the Year Award on a number of occasions and has won the award once. Scorers for all first class matches played in the greater Durban area are appointed by KZNCSA and actively scouts new talent in involved in school, club and other structures of the sport in KZN.

The KZN Cricket Scorers’ Association (KZNCSA) was formed in 1996 and has an elected President who is assisted by an Executive Committee, and is governed by a Constitution and a Code of Conduct for its members.
